The Dalton Estate is owned by the Hotham family the senior family member is Lord Hotham (the eighth baron and eighteenth baronet). Lord and Lady Hotham moved out of Dalton Hall in 2007, and their eldest son William then moved in with his wife.
The estate is run by the resident agent, Simon Fairbank, who is a director of Savills (L+P) ltd and has been at Dalton Estate since 1994, his assistant agent is Rebecca Heuck. The rest of the office comprises the office administrator and secretary - Lynn Leech, the Financial Director and accountant - Caroline Atkinson, and her assistants, Angie Hazel and Lizzie Murdoch - Dr Mike Jackson works on Wednesdays as our Energy Manager, and Andy Fincham - the Clerk of Works who runs the Estate Yard property maintenance and refurbishment department. Lee Davies is the Works Foreman and in addition there are the 4 builders (Nick Dannat, Darren Thomas, Philip Williamson and Charlie Cliffe) two joiners (Neil Donkin and Ian Donahue), and plumber (Dan McGough) and we also sometimes employ sub-contractors.
Families like the Hothams and estates like The Dalton Estate have been around for a long time and have had both high and low points in their long heritage.
Agriculture forms the back-bone of most rural estates and Dalton is no different.
Recently The Dalton Estate has started to diversify into the new area of renewable energy.
